New date for CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examination announced in Punjab
The new date for CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examination in Punjab has been announced. The examination which was supposed to be held on April 2 was postponed in the backlash 'Bharat bandh'.
The board authorities called off the examination on the request of state authorities ahead of Bharat Bandh to maintain the law and order situation in the state, as several Dalit organisations were standing against the alleged dilution of the SCs/STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
It has been decided to conduct the cancelled examination in Punjab on April 27. The roll numbers and examination centres already allotted to the students will remain the same.

As per the reports, board received an official letter from the director general (school education) of the Punjab government, requesting them to postpone all the examinations scheduled to be held on April 2, on the account of apprehensions of law and order problems and other disturbances in the day during the 'Bharat bandh'.
As per the scheduled date, students would have sat for their language exams, including Hindi, French, Sanskrit and Urdu on that day.
The Punjab regulation authorities maintained the law and order situation in the state by not just postponing the board exam but by also shutting the schools for that day.
